TeacherSanctions product update: API v1.1, Google sign-in, and a better search experience

TeacherSanctions has grown into a more complete and easier-to-use platform for parents, reporters, researchers, public-safety teams, and screening organizations. This release improves how people sign in, search, review results, and integrate nationwide educator discipline data.

A simpler way to get started

New users can now sign up or log in with Google, alongside the existing email options. We also simplified the signup language so people who only want to search records do not have to think about API access before getting started.

Every new free account includes three welcome searches, followed by one free search each month. No payment card is required for free access.

A clearer nationwide search experience

Search results are easier to scan, with clearer action labels, improved state filtering, and a more polished dashboard and nationwide coverage map. The interface has also been refined across desktop and mobile for better readability and accessibility.

TeacherSanctions continues to preserve official-source provenance and provide supporting source links where the underlying state source permits it. Coverage depth and available details still vary by state.

API v1.1 is now available

API v1.1 makes nationwide searches more predictable for integrations. It improves state-name handling, record identifiers, name data, result metadata, and the documentation around authentication, errors, rate limits, and result limits.

The API remains designed for organizations that need structured educator discipline results while retaining the source context needed for careful review.

Built for careful verification

TeacherSanctions searches educator discipline records across all 50 states in one place. It is a research and verification tool, not a consumer report, and no result should be the sole basis for an employment, licensing, or safety decision.

Users should confirm identity, review the available source context, and verify an action with the issuing state when making a consequential decision.
